Script to Scream: The Time Out Discussion on Cult Adaptation
Thursday 24th May - 6.30pm-7.30pm (Odeon Covent Garden)
Cine-Excess VI is proud to present an exclusive debate between international filmmakers, screen-writers, critics and journalists on the topic of perfecting horror fiction from script to screen. It began with a Time Out competition for aspiring screenwriters and horror fans to construct a 30 word pitch on the topics of monsters, mad scientists, ghosts, ghouls, vampires and killer household appliances! Now modern masters of the macabre will discuss the winning Time Out entries, as well as offering their own conclusions as to what makes a cruel and crazed cult horror classic.
Participating in this very special debate are Cine-Excess VI Guests of Honour Enzo G. Castellari (Cold Eyes of Fear, Keoma, The Inglorious Bast***s), whose cinema has elevated brutality to a balletic form, as well as the modern master of European extreme: Sergio Martino (Torso, All the Colours of the Dark, Mountain of the Cannibal God).
Joining these two champions of celluloid-excess are Brit. horror director Julian Richards (The Last Horror Movie, Summer Scars), veteran horror producer Robert D. Weinbach (The Mutations and Cauldron of Blood), and hip UK splatter novelist Frazer Lee (Panic Button, The Lamplighters). ‘Script to Scream: The Time Out Discussion on Cult Adaptation’ will be chaired by Time Out critic Tom Huddleston.
‘Script to Scream: The Time Out Discussion on Cult Adaptation’ is open to cinema goers over the age of 18, and tickets are priced at £12 each, (£7.50 concessions). This panel discussion is also free to all Cine-Excess VI delegates holding a full or day rate pass.
Early booking is advised.
